RETRO-COMMISSIONING |

Retro-commissioning is a process for LEED facilities or large buildings that need troubleshooting to resolve issues with comfort and energy waste. The process can determine weak links that compromise the efficiency of the entire system. The process uses a retro-commissioning "agent", who has the combined skills of a building systems engineer, a controls specialist, and a MEP Engineer. IES can facilitate the process by providing appropriate building documentation, facilitating communications, documenting the process and assigning responsibilities for repairs of the system. |

Everyone benefits from retro-commissioning. For owners, retro-commissioning reduces building operating costs that can lead to an increase in net operating income. Building managers notice many fewer occupant complaints and an increased ability to manage systems. Building staff receive training and improved and updated documentation, and building occupants enjoy increased comfort. | | | |
