The owners of Mayslake Manor, a residential retirement community in Oakbrook, IL, were losing hundreds of dollars every month through energy losses due to low-quality deteriorating windows, outdated refrigerators and inefficient lighting systems. After a thorough evaluation, IES retrofitted 149 units - replacing windows, sliding patio doors and outdated refrigerators with ENERGY STAR Qualified products. We also installed eight new CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light) light bulbs in each of the 149 units. The entire project took only 30 days, which was within the designated timeline. |
Because of our effort, residents of these units will experience more comfortable temperatures in summer and winter months, while the Mayslake complex will experience reduced energy bills and electric usage. |
The project, part of a DuPage County Weatherization / ComEd Grant Program, drew compliments from both Mayslake residents, staff and county officials. |
